3-Day Workshop on Combating Desertification in the Jordan Valley
The National Agricultural Research Center of Jordan, under the EcoFuture PRIMA project, is organizing a 3-day workshop from 16 – 18 September 2025 to present the strategic plan to address desertification in the Jordan Valley.
This event brings together around 140 key stakeholders, including:
✅ High-level officials at the level of Secretary General
✅ Members of the Nexus Committee (Ministry of Planning, representing all key sectors)
✅ Parliament members in the water, agriculture, and energy sectors
✅ Representatives from international & national agencies
✅ Members of our Living Labs community
The workshop represents a crucial step toward sustainable WEFE Nexus solutions for the Jordan Valley. It introduces a new agricultural paradigm built on:
💧 Smart irrigation & water harvesting
🌱 Soil regeneration through organic matter
♻️ Circular economy approaches
🌿 Agroecological practices
Our shared goal is to shape an agricultural policy for the Jordan Valley that secures water, energy, and food security, while protecting the environment and enhancing community wellbeing.
